Buy Requests are a powerful way to source and sell diamonds efficiently on RapNet. This guide walks you through how to post, manage, respond to, and chat about Buy Requests—whether you're a buyer looking for diamonds or a seller looking to fulfill requests.
For Buyers: Post & Manage Your Buy Requests
You can post 3 types of Buy Requests:
Public: Visible to all RapNet members. Responders see your company name.
Private: Only you see this request. You’ll be notified when matches are found.
Anonymous: Public request, but your company name remains hidden.
Post a Buy Request
Go to All Buy Requests > + New Buy Request
Choose request type and set notification preferences
Fill out diamond details – Shape, Size, Color, and Location are mandatory
Add comments or specify location preferences
Click Save
Note: If your request is too broad, auto-matching notifications may be disabled.
RapNet instantly alerts you with a list of matching diamonds available on RapNet, and notifies/emails you when sellers respond to your buy request.

Get Diamond Matches
RapNet notifies you when diamonds match your request:
View up to 50 updated diamonds from sellers
The system keeps adding new matching diamonds to the request
Sellers may also respond manually to your request
You can also manually add diamonds from the search results:
Hover over a Buy Request > Click the Search Icon
Select diamonds > Click the List Icon > Choose request > Add
Diamonds already rejected or suggested won’t be sent again.
Manage & Renew Buy Requests
Go to My Buy Requests
Filter by requests with suggestions/responses
Click on a Buy Request to:
View matching diamonds
Contact sellers
Reject diamonds
Add to List
View seller responses and chat
💬 Chats initiated through Buy Requests are routed to the request page and cannot be edited. You can continue chatting directly from there.
📆 Buy Requests expire after 14 days. To Renew: Select request > More > Renew Selected

Use Buy Requests to Sell More Diamonds
Find matching Buy Requests in 3 ways:
Go to All Buy Requests
Receive RapNet notifications or emails when matches occur
Use filters to find:
Requests you’ve responded to
Requests matching your inventory
You can respond even if your inventory doesn’t match perfectly—just send a message!
Respond & Suggest Diamonds
To respond:
Hover over a request > Click the ↩️ Respond icon
OR click the Buy Request > Click Respond
Suggest matching diamonds or send a message
Even if you don’t have inventory listed on RapNet, you can still respond to the buyer by simply typing a chat message.
You can also send a pre-made RapNet List or message the buyer even without the listed inventory
Once a diamond is suggested, it’s removed from your suggestion list for that request. You can update your response later.
Anonymous Requests: You won’t see the buyer's name unless a trade is created.
Track Your Responses
Go to the All Buy Requests page
Use filters to see:
Requests you’ve already responded to
Requests that match your inventory
RapNet tags Buy Requests with the response date, so you always know when you replied
Buy Request Chats
A chat opens when you or the buyer replies with a message
Chats appear on your homepage > Latest Chats
Click to enter the Buy Request chat and continue the conversation
Once started, the original chat message cannot be edited.
Manage Notifications
Set your notification preferences for Buy Requests:
Go to your Notification Center
Turn web, app, and email notifications on/off
Opt for daily push/email alerts
Go to your RapNet Notification Centre to manage your buy request notifications.

Navigating Buy Requests
All Buy Requests: View active buy requests posted by other members. Your buy requests are not displayed here.
My Buy Requests: View your active and expired buy requests, manage responses, or make edits.
Hover Actions:
Hover over any buy request to add, edit, or delete it.
Add a personal note to a request (visible only to you).
More Options:
Print/Export: Export selected or all buy requests to PDF or CSV for your records.
Filters: Use filters to find buy requests that match your inventory, responses, or specific diamond criteria (e.g., size, price).
